Program Goal
To create a multi- sectoral and multidisciplinary community of health and clinician researchers who are able to lead British Columbia and Canada in applying a gendered approach to the study of addictions. By conducting research in this manner, new knowledge of the complexities of addiction will be discovered that can be applied nationally and internationally.

Program Objectives
Impart will increase the capacity of the health research community in addictions, gender, women and girls by:
  1. increasing the numbers of health, social science and clinical researchers in British Columbia and Canada specializing in addictions research and applying a gendered approach to the study of addictions.
  2. improving the capacity among researchers from a range of disciplines to apply knowledge of the complexities of addiction when conducting addictions research .
  3. creating a bridge between research, policy and practice by facilitating on-going dialogue between mentors, collaborators and trainees.
  4. developing and disseminating knowledge nationally and internationally.
  5. fostering the involvement of new and experienced mentors in all aspects of addictions research training
